Aavin Milk is Available in Qatar

Milk produced by state cooperative Aavin was introduced in Qatar’s capital Doha by dairy development minister K T Rajenthra Bhalaji on Friday. It was earlier exported to Singapore and Hong Kong.

Nearly 15,000 litres of milk, in tetra packs of 1 liter and lesser volumes, have been sent to Qatar in the first phase along with other products like ghee and flavoured milk.

“We have sent one container with a capacity of 15,000 Litres to Doha along with ghee. We plan to export 3-5 containers a month,” Aavin managing director C Kamaraj told T01.

Around 2.4 lakh litres had been exported to Singapore and 10,000 litres to Hong Kong, taking 25 days to reach. Milk from Chennai, heated at a certain temperature and packed in tetra packs, will remain fresh for several months,” said Kamaraj.

Aavin, which recently received customs nod to export ghee, is looking at other Gulf countries like Kuwait to market its products. “Ghee has a good demand in these countries,”.
