Road Caves in Chennai Mount Road | Near Church Park School & American Embassy

A week after road caved in Anna Salai, the road near Anna flyover has caved inn on Sunday. According to reports, the incident is said to have happened due to the ongoing Metro rail works. Notably an MTC bus and a car got trapped into the crater and the passengers were rescued safely.

The road near Anna Flyover has caved in on Sunday around 2pm. An MTC bus and car plunged into a huge crater that was formed in the middle of the Anna Salai.

It is suspected that the crater must have been formed because of the metro rail work. Few days ago similar incident happened in the same place near the flyover.

It was a MTC bus (25G) travelling from Anna Square – Vadapalani bus depot, has stopped at the bus stop. The driver felt some movement and he felt like problem in tyre or puncher. When he look out from the window he saw the road caving in. The driver asked the passengers to get down immediately. After the passengers got down, the road started going down and the bus started to sink in it. A car was also trapped in the cave.

The police came to the spon and diverted the traffic. There was traffic jam in surrounding areas, police diverted the traffic in differnt routes. Reports says that no one was injured in this road cave incident.
