Ashwin Becomes India’s 5th most Successful Bowler in Tests

India’s bowling spearhead R. Ashwin created a new record when he picked up six wickets in Australia’s second innings by becoming the fifth successful bowler from India taking his total tally to 269 wickets. He surpassed Bishen Singh Bedi’s tally of 266 wickets. Ashwin, 30, entered the ongoing second Test against NZ in Bengaluru on 261 wickets after an outstanding 2016, in which he ticked off several personal landmarks, and 13 wickets in 2017 (six during the one-off Test against Bangladesh and seven in the Pune Test against NZ).
