Ancient Primate Species Found in India

Researchers have discovered a new primate species that lived in Jammu and Kashmir approximately 11 to 14 million years ago. Scientists have named the new Species Ramadapis sahnii. A member of the ancient Sivaladanidae primate family, it consumed leaves and was about the size of a house cat. Among the primates, the most common ones in the Kashmir region are from a germs called Sivapithecus, which were ancestral forms of orangutans. The last primate found in the area was 38 years ago.

What are Ancient Species?

Ancient species are those which have evolved billion years ago or earlier. While life on Earth was still on bacterial level, these species were at that point meandering through the universe; these days some are wiped out while others remain.

In a more target and less human-centric definition, antiquated species may maybe be characterized as the result of the first and second eras of stars in our Universe (our sun is a third era star). Some of these, be that as it may, might be even more seasoned than that.
